Tarea Exploratoria

I just remembered my password, so I'm typing this a bit late.... Anyway, I did a couple more tasks, because I wanted more of a choice for the paragraphs I could have written. I am writing about the DVD, radio, and the Spanish-language device.

Task completed-

"Listen to Spanish-language radio (http://pandora.com or http://batanga.com) for 30 minutes"

For this task, I logged into my Pandora account and typed in "Shakira", because she is one of the only Latino artist that I know of. A lot of different music was played. The song "La Tortura" was a memorable song that was playing. It was about how hard it was to lose her partner. I couldn't think of any other artists, so I simply typed in "Spanish", and some Spanish guitar radio came up. It was really boring. There wasn't anything that interested me in that station, so I switched back to Shakira, and listened to her for a while. :)

Task completed- "Watch a DVD with the language set to Spanish"

This task was really fun! I played Star Wars III in Spanish....and it was really funny. The voiced sounded a bit different, and they spoke faster which made me laugh. I didn't have one clue what they were saying either, so I had fun thinking of words they could have been saying. One thing I didn't like, was that it kind of ruined the intensity of the movie for me, turned it more into a comedy, which was fine I guess. My favorite character was Yoda, he sounds very funny in Spanish....

Task completed-

"Change your cell phone/iPod/other electronic device's language to Spanish for at least 2 days"

This was definitely and interesting task to say the least. My favorite part was that I could understand what my tablet said, because I know what apps I downloaded. A drawback, in my opinion, was when I was trying to do schoolwork, I had to look closer to see what I was looking for.  I usually don't think about what other countries devices screens look like. It was weird the first time I turned on the tablet, I forgot I changed the language, and it was just a funny situation. Changing a device's language is definitely an interesting learning experience, and it helped me better understand the language in general. I learn better when I can recognize things that are familiar to me.
